The musical "Falsettos" was written by James Lapine and William Finn. The story revolves around a non-traditional family coping with their dysfunctions, personal flaws, and the impending tragedy of an international health crisis.
Set in the post-sexual revolution of 1979 and the emerging AIDS epidemic in 1981, the family still finds themselves holding on to each other. The musical revolves around Marvin, as he attempts to keep his splitting family happy.
Falsettos opened on Broadway on April 29, 1992 and ran for 486 performances. The musical won the 1992 Tony Awards for Best Book of a Musical and Best Original Score. Though no Broadway revival has happened, "Falsettos" has been produced nation-wide. read more about Falsettos
